Review about PN booster by Dr. Charlie Giroud

Medical Review: Aurorafill PN Booster

for Periorbital Rejuvenation

Reviewer: Dr. Charlie Giroud, MD, FAAD

Specialty: Cosmetic and Medical Dermatology

Date: October 30, 2020

Product: Aurorafill PN Booster (Polynucleotide Solution)

Indication Reviewed:

Treatment of the Infraorbital Area (Under-Eye).

1. Product and Technology Overview

The Aurorafill PN Booster is a specialized injectable formulation utilizing high-concentration

Polynucleotides (PN), derived from purified salmon DNA. The primary mechanism of action

of PN is centered on cellular bio-stimulation. Once injected, PN acts as a scaffold and

signaling molecule, promoting deep hydration and stimulating the local microenvironment,

specifically by:

1. Fibroblast Activation: Enhancing the production of Type I and Type III collagen and elastin.

2. Antioxidant Effect: Scavenging free radicals, which is critical in the thin,

photo-exposed skin of the periorbital region.

3. Tissue Repair: Aiding in the regeneration and normalization of the extracellular

matrix.

The molecular weight and specific viscoelastic properties of the Aurorafill formulation appear

optimized for the delicate nature of the infraorbital skin, minimizing the risk of Tyndall effect

or persistent edema often associated with traditional hyaluronic acid fillers in this area.

2. Clinical Assessment and Efficacy

I have incorporated the Aurorafill PN Booster into my clinical practice for patients presenting

with common infraorbital concerns, primarily:

a) Chronic dark circles (pigmented and vascular)

b) Fine lines and rhytides (crow’s feet and tear trough crepiness)

c) Mild volume deflation or textural atrophy.

Results Observation (Post-Series Protocol)

The standard protocol involves 3 sessions spaced 2-3 weeks apart, with maintenance

treatments every 4–6 months.

● Dark Circles (Vascular/Pigmented): Efficacy in this area has been notable,

particularly in cases where the darkness is attributed to poor microcirculation and

dermal thinness. The bio-stimulatory effect thickens the dermis over time, providing a

better dermal cushion and masking the underlying vasculature. Pigmentary

improvement is slower but observable, likely due to the enhanced antioxidant activity

and improved skin health.

● Fine Lines and Texture: This is where the product demonstrates its strongest

advantage. Patients consistently report a significant reduction in crepiness and fine

lines within 6–8 weeks following the initial treatment series. The increased collagen

and hydration lead to a visibly smoother, tauter skin texture.

● Hydration and Elasticity: Unlike simple mesotherapy, the sustained moisture

retention imparted by the PN matrix is superior. The skin barrier function appears

improved, resulting in a healthier, less translucent appearance under the eye.

3. Safety and Tolerability

The safety profile of the Aurorafill PN Booster, in my experience, is excellent when

administered correctly in the appropriate plane (superficial dermis or sub-dermal).

● Downtime: Minimal. Patients typically experience mild, localized swelling and

erythema for 24–48 hours. Small, transient papules may appear immediately

post-injection but typically resolve within 24 hours. Bruising risk is comparable to

other fine-gauge injectable treatments in this high-vascularity area.

● Adverse Events: No reported instances of severe inflammatory or immunological

responses. The purified nature of the PN appears highly biocompatible.

4. Conclusion and Recommendation

The Aurorafill PN Booster offers a valuable, non-filler alternative for addressing the complex

aging characteristics of the under-eye area. It excels as a dermal restorative agent where

skin quality, fine lines, and textural issues are the primary concern, making it an ideal

treatment for younger patients or those seeking to improve the quality of the skin itself,

rather than solely adding volume.

It is particularly recommended for combination therapy alongside tear trough fillers (when

volume replacement is necessary) to optimize the overlying skin canvas.
